Abstract:

Facing data center resource constraints, Bowdoin College leveraged new technology to meet its current and future needs. Last year we consolidated more than 60 servers into 9 VMWare hosts, created an extensive R&D environment, and deployed highly available and resilient academic and administrative systems while saving more than $350,000 in hardware costs.
