It depends a bit, but in general, one of three avenues happen: If it's a software the university has a license to, we'll pay (albeit usually some of those funds come from students' technology fees). If it's not part of a campus license, but a subset of students would have access to it for a discount ...

I guess the bigger question is when/where are they showing it. I could maybe see a case where they will be showing the video in class and don't have access to turn on closed captions, and don't also have options for equipment for doing single-user closed captions. It was a straight copy-paste. The only modification was the indent. Huggingface isn't perfect by any means. It'll only work like most integrity checking interventions - in combination with other interventions. It can also be interesting to feed it original text not generated by AI to see what it thinks ...
