Allan, I would tend to interpret an 'ask' like this as "we want you (Allan) to perform a cost/benefit analysis and then bring your recommendations around the best courses of action to us." Even if they asked for it - I think most boards would drown in the complexity of the actual cost/benefit analysis. ...
