Just FYI. Nothing new, really. "We expect to publish Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 as a "W3C Recommendation" web standard in 2023. We are addressing new comments that we received in August 2023. Depending how that goes, the final publication could be in September or later in 2023." ...

I hope this is okay to post in this group as it does pertain to digital accessibility. If not, please let me know. Instead of posting a job, I'm looking for one! I'm currently the Senior Director of Web Technologies and also handle all digital accessibility concerns at Quinnipiac University. So I'm ...

You don't mention the actual font size being used by the CMS. Typical font size needs to have at least 4.5:1 contrast ratio whereas larger text can be 3:1. That can make all the difference "18 point text or 14 point bold text is judged to be large enough to require a lower contrast ratio" http ...

Hey all. What are you using for your social media icon widget? Marketing looked at sharethis, but it had contrast and focus indicator issues. Naturally, we're looking at free or low cost, and easy implementation (copy/paste a script), but in house development is also a possibility. Thank you, ...

I reached out to someone in the industry who is very knowledgeable in tracking digital accessibility lawsuits. He claims the numbers seen in the links I provided are "wild guesses" as demand letters aren't tracked. His estimation, based on what he learns directly from those who received a demand letter ...

Thanks Joshua. Unfortunately, no one is providing their data source on demand letters. So is it a guess? A rough estimate? and if so, a rough estimate based on what? Or are they copying what someone else wrote about demand letters. Very curious and would love to find their source of data. Doug - ...

Hello all. Digital accessibility lawsuit data is publicly available, but what about demand letters? Most demand letters are settled before reaching the courts, but in reading this page: https://codemantra.com/ada-demand-letter-guidebook/ it states: "While more than 1,500 demand letters were sent weekly ...

I opted not to inform them. It was 2017 and because complaint letters had just started being sent to Higher Eds, too much unknown at the time. Didn't want to make matters worse/draw more attention. The intent of this letter makes me wonder. Just a courtesy letter as a reminder to stay on top of accessibility or get going with it? A forewarning based on expected ADA changes for "places of public accommodations" to address websites? Curious. ------------------------------ Doug Geiste Senior Director ...

Similar to Mark's process, my process is to first run a 5-10 minute quick audit before even looking at the Accessibility Conformance Report (ACR). Includes WAVE, keyboard nav, focus indication, tab order, skip link availability, and alt text. More often than not, I quickly find barriers that negates ...
