Hello Eric and Geoff, I am planning to upgrade our 9800-80 pair to 17.9.4. We have plenty of 9136 in our environment. This is concerning that you have Macbook issues. Can you please tell me what was the previous code on your controller? and the Macbook issues started only after you upgraded to ...

Thanks Anthony, When you say spike, do you mean 97-100%? Because we only get to see issues when cpu is between this range. In 80s or below, things seem normal. The CPU recovers in about 15 minutes, so unless someone complaints in this duration, the issue may go unnoticed. DNAC is not tracing wncd ...

Thanks Chad for your detailed response - appreciate your time. I have just broken up few sites which were linked to wncds with higher utilization. I have assigned different tags to bigger buildings. For now the cpu utilization looks even across all wncds but it is an off peak time so i am hoping things ...

Thankd Donald for your responce. So you have a different site tag for each building and none of the buildings have more than 250 APs? When you run below command, do you see APs evenly distributed among wncds?: show wireless stats ap loadbalance summary ------------------------------ Tariq ...

Hello everyone, We have a 9800-80 pair (HA-SSO) running code 17.9.2. It has 2600 APs (mostly 9136, and mix of 3800, 9120 and 9130) and at peak it has 24,000 devices connected. We have 2 pairs of 8540s as well (they have old APs). We have grouped nearby buildings in a single site (site tag) as long ...

Hello, I am just wondering if someone else has come acrossed something similar and found a solution. Few people have complained that when they remove their laptops from docking stations (dell usb-c), the switchover from LAN/ethernet to Wifi don't happen automatically. If they attempt to connect to ...

Although you are not looking for a tool, but I am using aircheck for connecting to specific AP. I also use it for finding interference (and sources). This has been a good investment for us so far. https://www.netally.com/products/aircheckg2/ ------------------------------ Tariq Adnan Senior Network ...

Hello all, We have recently deployed Cisco 9800-80 controllers and 9136 APs. I have left the APs to get channel/power settings from the controller's RRM and have fine tuned the upper/lower limits for the TPC power levels. We want to evaluate how good RRM is and whether we can trust it with bigger deployments ...

Last weekend we did some upgrades/changes in our core network and one of the 8540 did go offline briefly. Its APs went to a different controller and when the original controller came back up, the AP started migrating to it and getting stuck in downloading. There were about 300 APs having this issue. ...

Hello Lee, We did bounce the port multiple times but no luck. The console logs clearly show we are hitting this bug. Instead of wasting more time on it and messing up WLC clock (for just 3 APs), we decided to replace the APs. AP console logs: *Dec 10 10:08:47.775: Using SHA-2 signed certificate for ...

Thanks Chad for sharing this. What is the name of the twitter group? I may join it for getting updates. We still have 3700s in our deployment and this weekend 3 APs rebooted (because of some network upgrades), lost the code and now stuck in downloading stage and hitting this bug :) ------------------------------ ...

Thanks Hunter for your reply. We have experienced this issue on both 8540 HA SSO pairs (8.10.171.0 and 8.5.161.6) and my individual test controller (3504). When you say failover, do you mean failover from active to standby controller (redundancy force-switchover)? Did you stay on the standby controller ...

Thanks Phil for this information. Did disabling DoH fixed most of the guest issues in your enviroment? That's all you did to remediate the issues? ------------------------------ Tariq Adnan Network Engineer The University of Sydney ------------------------------

issue resolved by creating user vlan SVI's on controller and defining dhcp helpers under them. Somehow the uplink Juniper switch was dropping dhcp packets because of dhcp-snooping being enabled. We couldn't turn off the dhcp-snooping on Juniper due to some reasons hence i have to proceed with this option. ...

Hello everyone, Just wondering if anyone else is seeing increasing issues with connectivity to their guest wifi networks using web-auth? We have a guest ssid with captive portal (hosted on Aruba CPPM) that requires a user to to login. We have a pair of 8540s running 8.10.171.0 and 8.5.161.6. The SSiD ...

Hello everyone, I am testing code 8.10.162.0 on WLC 3504. I have different test devices (Macbook, windows 10, iPhone 12) and all seems to be working fine with this code except Samsung S10. S10 can get IP address from SSiD X with it's real mac-address (phone mac) but not randomized mac. Another SSiD ...
