Hello all. This is a wonderful effort -- I'm sure you all will come up with terrific conference proposals. FYI, the XR in Education community group, along with the others, has the opportunity to also propose a conference session. Which can range from a community open house to a panel discussion -- last ...

I have used the Varjo XR-3 which is quite impressive in image quality, FOV and response. But it is a very different device from Apple's aimed at a different set of use cases. The Varjo is tethered requiring a high end graphics card/computer and utilizes the Vive light towers for tracking. It supports ...

Adam, From a technology standpoint, you have a good list of the major players. The other side of the equation is what content does your user plan to capture and how are they going to use it? If it is a museum scanning objects for archival storage, then you go high-end. But if it is a faculty member looking ...

Bryan, Thank you for putting together a terrific experience for this month's meeting. Curio XR is certainly an intriguing platform, and one I know I will be digging more into. The meeting recording came out well, including the VR portion. So those of you who couldn't attend should find time to watch. ...

Tracy, You might look back at the discussion thread from 1/26 that Matt Kilbride started. There are some opinions in there on headset management platforms in addition to what comes up here. From the general comments over the last months my unscientific sense is that ArborXR is pretty popular within our ...

Cindi, What a great question. I'm sure there will be plenty of opinions. In my own writing I'm starting to focus on the content and the experience rather than the technologies being used – which are changing quickly. I'll argue that much of the distinction between AR, VR, MR, (etc.) is due to the ...

John, You can always stick with the Vive Pro, for a wired headset. It is a well-established contender. The Varjo's are nice, but pricey. Their platform also utilizes the Vive light towers and trackers. You might be able to find their Aero headset at a reseller at a good price now that they've been discontinued. ...

I echo the other comments, Meta is hard to beat. Especially with the depth of available content, both general consumer and educational. We've worked with some other headsets -- such as Pico, Lenovo, etc. -- which are terrific, and easier to manage from an enterprise standpoint. But unless you are deploying ...
