Anyone have issues with phones (that 1900's kind of tech)? DownDetector and Thousand Eyes reference outages... but nothing on Twitter / X or postings I can find. My phone carrier, while I wait for escalation evidently is not looking (or doesnt have) at the big board of "is stuff broken in our NOC" ...

+1 for cambium. We have used them 2x for 2 different needs. Keep in mind, line of sight- really important. If you see something in the way, that does matter. (even tree leaves-because they get wet). Also, every few years you will need to climb back up both sides of the link and re-zero it. Gravity ...

Sub question. We use our systems for essentially a Web Cert provider. 1 cert to rule them all... (no comments on the design..I inherited this ) Do people who use Palo's just do the NAT on the A10 and put a local cert on each server? Ian Cheers Ian J Lyons Network Architect - Rollins College ...

I have used PacketShaper and Exinda and even thought about Exindas spin off. The products were very expensive and I kept hitting the Packet Per Second cut off even when demo'ing their highest end product. I expected that once I abandoned the Shaping world my traffic would go back to the 90's and 00's ...

Remote POE toggle! I had these many years ago. That was what frustrated me, had to go in person once someone tells you the camera is dead, and many unplug/plug! Nice to know they can go back into my tool kit for "crazy ideas management makes up at the last minute". Even if I am management now. ...

10gb to edge 40gb at core (most links) 5gb to internet (redundant active passive connection) new edge switches are mostly up to 5gb to AP's as we convert AP's from older to newer and support 60w power. Cheers Ian J Lyons Network Architect - Rollins College 401.413.1661 Cell 407.628.6396 Desk

We use AssaAbloy and Transact. I do not recommend their newest product, Aperio (Zigbee hubs)... YET. The Aperio devices do not have a full TCP/IP stack. They do not support DHCP, only static IP's are allowed. The stack is not built to even have the option of DHCP. End of Q3 I am told that should be ...

+1 to Shayne Went from QIP to IB (for years) then had to switch over to EIP due to cost. EIP does not have all the features and complexity that IB had/has... but a solid system and support is very good. How to make a ticket is a little cumbersome but not the worst I have seen. Responses are quick ...

Lee Yes, I hope Zigbee to be our path forward. I would have really preferred to use the ZigBee on my AP 535 (Aruba). But evidently you cannot have everything. The "battery person" was my staff, until recently. I got them out of that and currently it is a mix of ResLife folks (RA's I think) and our ...

Our "brains for locks is" Transact. Transact is SLOWWWW to figure stuff out. AssaAbloy (on cruise ships) is a great product. Comparatively, quick to market. Merge the 2 and meh. Throw in that the school management has said "WE MUST USE TRANSACT!" and double meh. We have 5 lock systems, so to me, ...
