Hi all: Many of the questions that come up on this list have relevant items in Google's NDAed Workspace Roadmaps. Obviously, as this is a public list, those NDAed items cannot be discussed here, but I thought I'd post a reminder set to request access to and read the roadmaps as they come out. They are ...

Perhaps https://support.google.com/calendar/answer/41207?hl=en would help, especially the "Let site visitors save a calendar event" part? I'm thinking you could put that on the final your response has been submitted page of your form.... Cheers,

You can report on usage without having to set quotas first. For example, using GAM, you can do: ~/bin/gamadv-xtd3/gam redirect csv ~/gam_output/usage/drive_gmail_photos_usage_2022-03-01.csv report users fulldatarequired allverifyuser some-active-user@example.edu all fields accounts:used_quota_in_mb ...

One important note: For all Workspace for Education instances, an individual hitting their quota doesn't stop Gmail use, only Drive and Photos. The overall organizational limits still apply, and are still based on total Gmail+Drive+Photos usage, though. Hope that makes sense, Ian Ian Crew Solutions ...

Just a point of clarification, by "CAB" you're referring to Change Advisory Board, yes? (I suspect you are, but there are lots of other meanings for that acronym...) Cheers, Ian

We just don't approve anyone's templates-it's just not a solution that scales to the scale of a large university (IMNSHO). Ian

Hi all: A question for the programmers in the audience about Google "domain-wide delegation", and impersonating users' access to the APIs, related to the issue with Photos being consumer, not core: I was just reading through the "Perform Google Workspace Domain-Wide Delegation of Authority" doc, the ...

Here at UC Berkeley, we've long had the possibility of having people's email address be different than their primary SSO ID. In short: Don't do it. It's extraordinarily painful. Longer version: Up until maybe 6-7 years ago, we let people pick both their SSO ID and their email address, and they could ...

Well, in terms of storage for research purposes, UMich has a really nice model--check out https://arc.umich.edu/umrcp/ for that. More generally, I think that as we go deeper into this post-unlimited world, many of us (Berkeley included!) are going to need to have some very high-level, cross-discipline ...

Hi all: (Raising this here because it's the only list I know of where anything about Adobe CC management gets discussed. My apologies, and please redirect me, if there's someplace you know of that is more appropriate.) We just heard about a change from Adobe that's supposedly coming (at least for us ...

Well, there are various third party add-ons (like Virtru, for example) that will allow you to send encrypted emails with sensitive information, but an equally good answer might be "don't send sensitive information via email, put it in a document in whatever system is set up for sensitive information, ...

Google just posted a couple of pages about change management processes, and they look pretty decent, not just for Google changes but more generally, so I thought I'd pass them along. Thanks Chris! That comparison chart is very helpful. In particular, it seems that the Attribute Mapping and Org Unit mapping are likely to be deal-killers for this new tool when used in a domain of our scale. Hi all: We're (at long last) starting to work on shifting from homegrown sync code to GCDS, but one of my colleagues noticed the public beta of Directory Sync in the admin console yesterday. Have any of you tried it yet? If so, is it a full replacement for GCDS? We'd hate to adopt GCDS just as it's ...

The best source of ongoing information I've found is the NDAed quarterly roadmaps. See https://www.googlecloudcommunity.com/gc/custom/page/page-id/Workspace-Roadmap-FAQ for how to get access if you don't have it already.
