Abstract:

Systemic institutional transformation is a key area of NLII research, toward enabling education that is active and learner-centered, dynamic and lifelong, collaborative, cost-effective, high-quality, and accessible. To bring about systemic progress in teaching and learning, a shift in perspective is always necessary. Sometimes that shift is in institutional perspective about where critical activities and resources are, as was the case at Pennsylvania State University (http://www.psu.edu/). Sometimes the shift is in institutional perspective about who the students are, as was the case at Fairleigh Dickinson University (http://www.fdu.edu/), where the student is seen as a global citizen. A summary of NLII resources and activities on Systemic Progress is given.
