<title>The Public Policy Implications of a Global Learning Infrastructure</title>
 <link>http://connect.educause.edu/display/42435</link>
<description>This is a report from a symposium co-sponsored by the National Learning Infrastructure Initiative (NLII) and the State Higher Education Executive Officers (SHEEO) held November 13 and 14, 1997. Part I, A Vision of a Global Learning Infrastructure, is a paper by Robert C. Heterick and Carol A. Twigg about the impact of information technology on society and the higher education environment. This part presents a vision of a global learning infrastructure for student-centered learning. Part II, An Information Technology Agenda for State Policymakers, outlines public policy implications of the global learning infrastructure described in Part I. This section describes challenges state boards face and offers insights into their resolution. This report was originally published by Educom and the State Higher Education Executive Officers (SHEEO).</description>
