Abstract:College officials are divided over the impact of the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling in MGM vs. Grokster that commercial producers of file-sharing software can be sued for copyright infringement. The software has been wildly popular among college students, who use it to download songs and movies -- usually in violation of copyright law.
