In order to keep pace with the evolving security environment, it is important to have an understanding of how your institution&#039;s policies and procedures will be impacted by these external influences. <title>Computer Use Policies at Major U.S. Universities</title>
 <link>http://connect.educause.edu/display/33750</link>
<description>The computer use policies of 71 state U.S. universities are analyzed for commonalities and differences. The most common policies regulate the use of e-mail, forbid illegal software copying, forbid interfering with normal operations, and forbid the use of computer resources for personal or financial gain. Additional policies address appropriate use of facilities, game playing, Web access, monitoring, and censorship. The policies vary from vague to specific and follow no pattern of topics. The policies lack information about how faculty, staff, and students are apprised of them and about changes which are made to them.</description>
