Implementing campus portals and Web-based services has proven to be a complex and demanding effort. Yet real progress is being made. This Research Bulletin draws on the 2002 Campus Computing Survey data to describe the overall gains in campus portal development, portal planning, and Web-based services at U.S. colleges and universities.
