Abstract:

More than a year after passage of the Technology, Education, and Copyright Harmonization (TEACH) Act of 2002, relatively few universities and colleges have implemented it. This research bulletin discusses the challenges related to helping faculty, administrators, and technical staff balance and understand the uses and limitations of the TEACH Act, which expands the scope of educators' rights to perform and display copyrighted works in digital online instruction.
