Abstract:The article describes LSU's approach to building enterprise systems solutions that spanned the academic, research, and administrative requirements of the university. PAWS (Personal Access Web Services) offers enterprise, workgroup, and personal services. The article describes PAWS as a portal, its implementation issues, its growth and popularity since it was implemented, and LSU's return on investment. The PAWS application won a 2000 EDUCAUSE Exemplary Practices Award.
