Abstract:Shibboleth is used to develop architectures, policy structures, practical technologies, and an open-source implementation to support interinstitutional sharing of Web resources subject to access controls. Georgetown University is working with the Washington Research Library Consortium to extend secure, identity-protected access to publishers' resources that have not yet been Shibboleth enabled.

Abstract:The Oregon Independent College Association has developed a mechanism for preparing RFPs and negotiating with multiple vendors to provide telecommunications and Internet services. Although each institution is small, the combined numbers provide incentives for vendors to offer competitive pricing and services. The panel will discuss its strategies and outcomes.
