 <title>Faculty as Authors of Online Courses: Support and Mentoring</title>

 <description>Through firsthand work with faculty, the authors identified recurring challenges most faculty face when developing online courses for the first time. These patterns of need were used to develop a framework for faculty mentoring. The framework includes guidelines and suggested tips and processes for addressing faculty concerns in terms of online course development.</description>

 <title>Finding Faculty: Encouraging and Enabling FITness</title>

 <title>Using Peer Mentors to Promote Information Fluency</title>

 <description>A professor, a librarian, and an instructional technologist team up to recruit and train five students who act as peer mentors for students enrolled in a multisection statistics course.  <title>Virtual Organizations, Virtual Mentoring, and At-Risk Youth: Implementation of a New Metacommunity</title>

 <description>Forty high school students from various different areas in the western United States collaborated in a year-long project designed to prepare youth for successful school-to-life transitions. The predominant mechanisms of interaction were e-mail, synchronous chats, and shared threaded writing posted in a virtual space via the Internet. This session will present four perspectives on the curriculum and online interactions designed to prepare youth for successful school-to-life transitions. The presenters will discuss the role of advanced technology in relation to success, outreach, partnerships, and communities.</description>
