Abstract:

Organizations are realizing that business continuity plans are not a “nice to have” but a “must have.” Prince George's Community College and Penn State will discuss the different planning processes they chose to create BC plans. One process built a plan methodically following five phases, while the other process completed a plan within six months.

Instead of a slow-and-steady approach, Prince George's Community College went whole hog and wrote a business continuity plan in only five months. While this was a huge step, the next step—testing—is equally important and difficult. The University of Rochester will discuss the hurdles they faced testing the plan.
