This session will cover several tools developed to accomplish these goals, including a university copyright policy, an online tutorial, a resource manual for faculty, a helpful Web site, and databases to process permissions requests.

ITIL, the Information Technology Infrastructure Library, is a process-based framework for more effectively managing IT services. Although just emergent in higher education, it has been widely adopted in industry. It is surprisingly well-suited to higher education. This session will introduce ITIL and serves as a companion to another session describing Yale's experience implementing ITIL.

Do physical spaces differ fundamentally from virtual learning environments? The Center for Digital Media in Vancouver, B.C., is constructing a physical complex simultaneously with a virtual campus in Second Life. We will explore the results that arise from engaging prospective students in the "modding" (modification) of a virtual space with architectural implications for the physical structure.

ECAR presents key findings from the fourth annual survey of undergraduates, with responses from 27,846 students at 103 higher education institutions. Plans for 2008 will also be discussed.
