Abstract:

Our presentation will detail one university's experience with employing Second Life, from the initial interest and awareness stage through implementing an upper-level undergraduate course with multidisciplinary, multiuniversity, and multinational characteristics made possible through the Second Life's Web 2.0 multiuser virtual environment.

Abstract:

This session will describe the planning, development, and implementation of a virtual campus in Second Life to supplement Texas Woman's University's annual Student Creative Arts and Research Symposium. Second Life provides a space where remote students can participate in poster sessions, live presentations, and hands-on demonstrations of student research alongside on-campus students.
