Abstract:

An identity management system often becomes a critical source of information for electronic services. Demands for data can result in tension between those who collect and safeguard the data and those who leverage it. This presentation will discuss the role that data governance plays at USC to both serve and protect.

Abstract:Information security is now the responsibility of deans, directors, and executive leaders, not just the CIO. A new coalition in industry, government, and higher education has recommended specific roles for each, as well as a check list to capture their attention and initiate a truly successful security program. The presentation will also include an update on the work of the EDUCAUSE/Internet2 Security Task Force.
