Abstract:SURAgrid is a consortium of universities collaborating to share resources and advance applications through grid technology. Participants are leveraging a broad array of campus resources, expertise, and experience to meet institutional goals while developing a large-scale interinstitutional grid. Identifying and "grid-enabling" specific research and education applications is a key activity.

Abstract:The University System of Maryland and Affiliated Institutions library consortium implemented OCLC's ILLiad system on eight campuses to enhance consortial sharing of articles and other materials. Authentication and security issues including the use of Shibboleth, integration with other systems, and related IT management issues will be discussed.
