Abstract:The University System of Maryland and Affiliated Institutions library consortium implemented OCLC's ILLiad system on eight campuses to enhance consortial sharing of articles and other materials. Authentication and security issues including the use of Shibboleth, integration with other systems, and related IT management issues will be discussed.

The survey will inform research that seeks to more deeply understand what drives institutions to collaborate as well as the extent of the collaborative activity.

Abstract:MERLOT is a worldwide consortium of higher education institutions, digital libraries, professional societies, and corporations that has designed, demonstrated, and implemented academic technology services.
