Help Promote the 2009 Computer Security Awareness Student Poster & Video Contest

The EDUCAUSE/Internet2 Computer and Network Security Task Force, in cooperation with the ResearchChannel, is conducting its third annual contest in search of computer security awareness posters and short videos developed by college students for college students. The contest, which is co-sponsored by the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA) and CyberWATCH, offers cash prizes ($1,000, $800 and $400) to the winners in each of the four categories. It also provides an opportunity for students to gain experience by developing creative and effective short videos or posters. The deadline for submission of entries is April 30, 2009.

New PSA Addresses Identity Theft

Similar to love, identity theft can occur when you least expect it! When that hot guy or girl in the coffee shop starts flirting...it could be more than just your heart at stake!

This PSA was inspired by a winning submission for the 2007 Computer Security Awareness Video Contest, which was organized by the EDUCAUSE/Internet2 Computer and Network Security Task Force, in cooperation with ResearchChannel, and sponsored by the National Cyber Security Alliance.

2007 Computer Security Awareness Video Contest Winners Announced

View the winning student videos announced for the 2007 Computer Security Awareness Video Contest held by the EDUCAUSE/Internet2 Security Task Force, the National Cyber Security Alliance, and ResearchChannel. The videos can be used in campus security awareness campaigns during student orientation and throughout the year.

The EDUCAUSE/Internet2 Computer and Network Security Task Force, in cooperation with the ResearchChannel, is conducting its second annual contest in search of short computer security awareness videos developed by college students for college students.

The contest is sponsored by the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA). Cash prizes will be awarded to the winners in each of two categories: training videos two minutes or less in length and 30-second Public Service Announcement (PSA) videos. The gold winners will receive $1,000; silver winners will receive $800; and bronze winners will receive $400.

Deadline for submission: March 15, 2007

Winning Student Videos on Cybersecurity Awareness

Six videos have been selected winners of a student video contest held by the EDUCAUSE/Internet2 Computer and Network Security Task Force and the National Cyber Security Alliance. Eighteen videos received Honorable Mention. Created by students for students, the videos draw attention to common computer and network security pitfalls such as phishing and data loss. The videos are available in various formats for viewing and downloading.
