Abstract:A new partnership in IT between higher education and state government has brought together New Mexico's public organizations on a common network. The project has broken barriers to funding and staffing and has provided ample bandwidth for the state, higher education, K-12, laboratories, and the National LambdaRail.

Abstract:The collaboration was kick started by the diversity and passion of a heterogeneous group including museums, K–12, educational networks, and colleges/universities interested in Internet2 connectivity and the buildout of a shared regional network infrastructure. The presentation will review the operational startup of the organization, development of subgroups, and growth of partnership opportunities from grants to shared bandwidth to the potential for content collaboration.
