Abstract:

This Research Bulletin discusses the strategic use of surveys and the techniques of data gathering, display, and analysis to provide information that institutions can use in effective decision making. The components of survey methodology--design, administration, and analysis--are described, as is the impact that surveys have had on IT programs in higher education. These tools and techniques can help higher education leaders make and share reasoned decisions with their constituencies.
