Abstract:

Course management/learning management systems are used with increasing frequency in higher education, yet little attention has been paid to the information management policy issues surrounding their deployment. This Research Bulletin frames many of the key issues, such as what constitutes a class record, student and faculty intellectual property rights, institutional records management policies, and roles and responsibilities surrounding the operation and management of learning management systems.
