Abstract:It has been argued that there has been more change in the past 200 years than in the previous 5,000. One of today's biggest change agents is information technology. This big-picture rumination will look briefly at three industries to examine changes in the past (in agriculture), present (in telecommunications), and future (in education). Agriculture may provide a metaphor for coming changes in the more relevant telecommunications and education industries.
