| Abstract: | As network speed has increased over the past three years, security has failed to keep pace. Traditional firewalls and intrusion protection systems can't handle proprietary rule sets or increased traffic flow. New security approaches combine high-speed traffic processing with comprehensive, robust rules enabled through open source code such as Snort. This presentation will explore Snort's benefits in securing education networks and will describe hardware architectures that can inspect traffic at 10-Gigabit speeds. |
