About MeMy BioIn 2006, John S. Camp retired as Wayne State Universitys Chief Information Officer. During Johns tenure as Deputy CIO and then CIO, Wayne State received numerous awards including being designated a Sun Microsystems Center of Excellence for administrative systems, named as one of the top 101 universities in the nation employing best practices in IT, and recognized as one of 16 universities doing innovative work in IT. Since retiring, John has consulted with university personnel about pressing information technology (IT) issues in higher education including realistic funding strategies, IT governance and leadership, project and portfolio management, strategic planning, and implementing critical IT systems. Johns professional activities include directing more than twenty externally funded projects, authoring twenty-five publications in national journals and two books, serving on and chairing national boards and committees including EDUCAUSEs Network Awards and Current Issues committees, and giving more than 100 presentations at national and international conferences. John Camp received his Ph.D. in Mathematics and Mathematics Education from Columbia University, in New York. |
