Carole Turner

Carole Turner has consulted with faculty and staff at UW-Madison, first in the College of Letters and Science and then at International Institute. Currently Carole is the Assistant Director of Academic Technology within the Division of Information Technology (DoIT). In this role, Carole supports campus-wide instructional technology initiatives and grant programs for faculty and instructional staff. The UW-Madison Engage Program seeks to transform teaching through technology, and is currently funding faculty projects related to podcasting as well as using games and simulations for learning. Projects include co-writing and co-presenting a strategic project paper with several colleagues from UW, UT-Austin, Berkeley, and Penn State on the topic of today's and tomorrow's students. In 2004, aAlong with several campus support and library staff, Carole started and organized ComETS (Community of Educational Technology Support), which serves to promote professional development and shared expertise with more than 200 members of the campus instructional support community.
