Penelope Swenson

Penelope Walters Swenson is Coordinator of Curriculum and Instruction in the School of Education at California State University Bakersfield and associate professor in both Educational Administration and Curriculum and Instruction. She serves on several University and School committees concerning strategic planning and technology. Dr. Swenson’s recent research is in the areas of increasing student engagement in distance learning and teacher and administrative uses of handheld computers. Penelope Swenson completed her Ph.D. at the Claremont Graduate University and demonstrated technology and curriculum leadership as a teacher and administrator in K-12 education for over 25 years before coming to CSUB.
