Vivie Sinou, Dean of Learning Technology & Innovations, Foothill College, manages the development, implementation, and strategic planning for the California Community College Consortium (CCCC) ETUDES Project. Dean Sinou formed the ETUDES Alliance that extended the use of ETUDES to over 50 colleges in 2002. Sinou manages the ETUDES-NG (Sakai-based tools) development effort, serves on the Sakai Board, and is contributing in shaping the vision of open source software for higher education, including leading an open content initiative for community colleges, the SOFIA Project.
Sinou was the recipient of the 2002 Technology Leadership Award from the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office. She was chosen for the prestigious statewide award for her prominence within the arena of higher educational technological resources management, exemplary organizational management and leadership qualities, advocacy of effective use of technology in supporting institutional goals, and contributions to growth of the profession as a whole. Sinou was also selected for the League Innovator of the Year Award for Foothill De Anza Community College District (2002).
