William G. Thompson, Jr.

Bill Thompson is a software engineer, an information systems architect and an Open Source advocate. As the Associate Director of Architecture and Engineering for Enterprise Systems and Services at Rutgers University, Bill leads teams of IT professionals in delivering web-based applications, including myRutgers - a university portal. In this role he sets technical direction, prototypes new solutions, and mentors junior staff. Bill has served on the Advisory Committee for the W3C and as President of New York Chapter of the Internet Society. He holds a B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Rutgers University and has done graduate work in Biomedical Engineering and Business Administration.
