About MeMy BioCole W. Camplese serves as the Director of Education Technology Services for Penn State University. In this role, Camplese has the opportunity to help direct and drive the direction of the Universitys commitment to teaching and learning with technology. Education Technology Services focuses energy on instructional design, educational technology, digital media, and faculty development. Currently at ETS, Camplese is leading efforts to bring University wide podcasting and blogging services to faculty, staff, and students. He is also responsible for the Digital Commons initiative, the TLT Symposium, components of the Blended Learning Initiative, Adobe Connect Pro, iTunes U, the TLT Communities, the PSU Serious Gaming Initiative, and supporting the use of ANGEL for teaching and learning. Before becoming the Director of ETS, Camplese spent the last six years as the Director of the IST Solutions Institute in the College of IST at Penn State University. In that role, it was his responsibility to set the strategic goals of the Institute and to direct a majority of the activities that go on there. Camplese was also the principle investigator and chief administrator for the Pennsylvania Governors School in Information Technology, an outreach program designed to enrich 75 of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvanias best and brightest high school juniors in the areas of information technology management. Camplese teaches in the College of Education where he teaches courses related to the management and implementation of emerging and disruptive technologies for teaching and learning. He is an Apple Distinguished Educator, selected for his innovative uses of Apple technology in and out of the classroom. Camplese serves on several industry and higher education advisories boards ranging from data storage management to the Apple Digital Campus.
