Vicente Cerveron
About MeMy BioVicente Cerverón is Vice President for Information and Communication Technologies at the Universitat de València (Spain), where he is responsible for the strategic planning of activities related to ICT, and for the supervision of the Computing services. Since the Universitat de València was looking for a system to enhance traditional classroom learning through technologies, they conducted an exhaustive survey of the available platforms. At the top of their list of criteria was scalability, and the ability to develop new features themselves. Other important features were authentication via LDAP, and internationalization to support Spanish, English, and Catalan. After a successful pilot project for selected students and professors, the Universitat de Valencia moved forward with widespread adoption of the .LRN platform. In 2005, Valencia rolls out .LRN to its entire student population, 50,000 students, allowing the new technology to enhance our traditional learning approach, while .LRN allows to support broader collaboration in support of learning. Vicente completed his Ph.D. in Computer Engineering at the University of Valencia, where he is also professor in the Computer Science Departament, currently teaching Parallel Computing. |
