David B. Allen

Dave Allen is an Assistant Director in Applications & Architecture for the University of Rochester. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and has played a key role in developing the project management methodology used across University IT. Dave's responsibilities have ranged from managing implementation and support of ERP systems to leading large software development initiatives. Dave’s contributions to the University include developing and implementing a software quality assurance and control organization. His recent areas of interest include evolving virtual program management to support strategic initiatives like enterprise identity management, portal technology and application change management. Dave started his career in information technology as a software developer. He has a diverse background with over 15 years of experience in the software development and telecommunication industries and 4 years experience in higher education. Dave holds a BS in Management Information Systems from Penn State University and is currently working on his master's degree in Business Administration from the Simon School at the University of Rochester.
