Andrea Ballinger

Andrea S. Ballinger is the Assistant Vice President for Decision Support and Director of Data Warehousing at the University of Illinois. Decision Support is a Business Intelligence Competency Center: A unit responsible for scoping, designing, and delivering solutions to business problems using a combination of enterprise data warehouse and business intelligence frameworks. Ms. Ballinger has more than 11 years experience in higher education including playing a key role as the Business Architect in the successful design and implementation of the Enterprise Data Warehouse at the University of Illinois. She previously served as ERP Project Coordinator, Y2K Project Manager, and as a manager for a campus-wide IT services group. A Past President (2006-2007) of the Higher Education Data Warehousing (HEDW) forum, Andrea continues to participate in and present at the organization’s conferences. She also shares her data warehousing experiences and lessons learned at the University of Illinois with other higher education institutions and through presentations at The Data Warehousing Institute (TDWI) conferences. Prior to joining the University of Illinois, Ms. Ballinger worked in the banking and finance industry for 10 years, advancing to become a Vice President of Operations.
