About MeMy BioKathleen Tyner is an assistant professor in the Department of Radio, Television and Film at the University of Texas-Austin. She is author, editor and co-editor of numerous books, articles, and curricular materials about media education, including Literacy in a Digital World: Teaching and Learning in the Age of Information and the award-winning, Scanning Television II. Tyner is instrumental in developing new media education programs, policies and projects internationally and consults with groups to conduct research and development for new media and technology projects across the United States. Her clients and community service efforts include projects with the Miami Museum of Science, Texas Commission on the Arts, UC-Berkeley Pacific Film Archive (CA); Southeast Regional Education Service Center (UT); and the City of Portland Telecommunications Policy Committee (OR). International projects include work with the Alliance of Civilizations program at the United Nations; the British Film Institute (London), Face to Face Media (Canada), and Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (Madrid). |
