James Kent Blackburn

J. Kent Blackburn is a Senior Scientist for the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-wave Observatory (LIGO) Laboratory at the California Institute of Technology, where he has a significant role in the development of Grid Computing Technologies for LIGO data analysis. He has recently taken on the role of the Computing Security Officer for the LIGO Laboratory and is evaluating the implications for computing security from the emerging grid computing world and how they overlap and extend traditional computer security strategies. He is also actively involved with the Open Science Grid (OSG), where he sits on the executive board as the OSG Resources Manager.
