Joanna S. Robinson

Joanna Robinson (BA: Communications, Media, Culture & Society. Hons.) is an MA candidate in Popular Culture at Brock University. Her research explores issues of gender representations, performance, identity, and implications for everyday life in online games and virtual worlds. Joanna has presented at a number of key conferences on her work in gender and online communication, avatars and identity as well as on her experience in utilizing virtual environments to augment and enhance learning experiences at the MDM program. Joanna will be commencing her doctoral studies at Simon Fraser University’s School of Interactive Arts & Technology in 2008.
