Sharon P. Pitt is Executive Director of the Division for Instructional Technology (DoIT) at George Mason University. Sharon is also currently Chair of the Electronic Campus of Virginia.
DoIT supports excellence in research, teaching and learning at Mason. George Mason University is an active member of EDUCAUSE, the EDUCAUSE Learning Initiative (ELI), and the New Media Consortium.
Before working at Mason, Sharon was Associate Vice Provost for Learning Technologies at North Carolina State University. At NC State, Sharon co-chaired the development of NC State's quality enhancement plan for reaffirmation of accreditation with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. From 2002 - 2004, Sharon served as Board Chair of the Teaching and Learning Technology Collaborative of the University of North Carolina system.
In 2004, Sharon was a Fellow of the Frye Leadership Institute.
Sharon received her degrees from Virginia Tech, including a Master of Architecture.
