My Bio

Dr. Tracey Leger-Hornby has over 20 years of experience in higher education as an administrator, librarian and technology specialist. Tracey is currently serving as Assistant Vice President for Library Services at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. As Assistant Vice President for Human Resources/Business Redesign at Brandeis University, she developed strategic initiatives to leverage the University’s investment in Oracle/PeopleSoft. Tracey joined Brandeis in 2000, directed the PeopleSoft implementation and managed several information technology departments within the Library and Technology Services division before moving to Human Resources.

Prior to working at Brandeis, Tracey held the position of Director of the Library at Rivier College in Nashua, New Hampshire and preceding that worked in the Simmons College Libraries for 12 years.

Tracey served on the Board of Trustees of the Northeast Regional Computing Program (NERCOMP) from 1994 to 2006 and held the offices of Chair, Treasurer, and Secretary. She is a member of the EDUCAUSE Professional Development Committee and a contributing author of the newly published EDUCAUSE e-book entitled Cultivating Careers: Professional Development for Campus IT. She is also a member of the Enterprise 07 Program Committee.

Dr. Leger-Hornby received her Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from Boston College, her Master of Library Service degree from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia and her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Education from Simmons College. Her doctoral research focused on women’s attitudes toward computers and the implementation of technology in higher education.
