Kimberly Kelley
About MeMy BioKim Kelley, M.L.S., Ph.D., is Associate Provost for University Libraries and Dean, School of Library and Information Science (SLIS), at the Catholic University of America. She assumed her responsibilities at CUA in 2007. Dean Kelley is responsible for the management of the CUA Libraries and the administration of SLISâ programs in library and information science. Her areas of expertise include intellectual property, administration and leadership in libraries, distance education, and collection development. Prior to coming to The Catholic University of America, Dr. Kelley was Vice Provost and Dean, Academic Resources and Services, University of Maryland University College (UMUC). Her responsibilities within UMUC included overseeing the worldwide UMUC library operations, overseeing a staff of 100 responsible course development, design, and multimedia services, career services and the Center for Intellectual Property (http://www.umuc.edu/cip). Dr. Kelley has over 25 years of experience as an academic administrator, and faculty member in higher education. Prior to coming to UMUC in 1991, she held management positions at Emory University, Columbia University and the Smithsonian Institution. Dr. Kelley has given over 150 presentations on topics related to libraries, distance education, virtual student services, and matters pertaining to intellectual property and digital works. Dr. Kelley has published extensively. Most recently, in June, 2006, UMUC's CIP had its first book on intellectual property published by Neal-Schuman. In addition, Dr. Kelley has obtained grants from the Sloan and Mellon foundations. Dr. Kelley has her Ph.D. from the University of Maryland, College Park and her master's and baccalaureate degrees from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. |
