About Me

My Bio

Professor Jafari has worked in the fields of Information Technology and Multimedia since 1985 as a software designer, system engineer, technology architect, professor, and researcher. He has worked in various engineering, administrative and academic positions at Indiana University Bloomington and IUPUI campuses. He is currently the Director of the CyberLab and Professor of Computer Technology at the School of Engineering and Technology at IUPUI.

Dr. Jafari has initiated, directed (PI), and served as the conceptual architect for several major research and development projects including the the Oncourse CMS at Indiana University (1999) http://oncourse.iu.edu, ANGEL Learning Managment System (2000) http://angellearning.com, and Epsilen Environment (2000-present) http://www.epsilen.com. He has edited three books on portals, CMS, and ePorfolio.

Dr. Jafari has presented in more than one hundred national and international conferences and published in professional and scholarly journals on a variety of subjects in information technology as it relates to teaching and learning. Dr. Jafari’s research interests include interface design, agent-based learning environments, intelligent user interfaces, and distance learning.
