Erik Lundberg

Erik Lundberg is the Director of the Computer Science Laboratory at the University of Washington. The CS Lab is the IT group for the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, ranked among the top ten programs nationally. The CS Lab - once a physical location where graduates would trek to worship at the alter (card punch) of big whirring machinery - is now a group of talented individuals who build and support the computing environment in the department, including instructional and research facilities, educational technology and automated business tools to support the department's research and teaching missions. The CS Lab also provides support to students, faculty and administrative staff in use of the departmental computing environment. Erik earned a BS in Mathematics at UW at a time when those card punches were all the rage. These days, Erik sits on the University's Privacy Assurance and System Security Council, and is actively involved in fostering a collaborative strategic planning environment within the broad technical community at the University of Washington.
