William L. Custer

William Custer is the Information Security Policy Manager at Miami University, Oxford, Ohio. He has been in the field of Education since 1981 when he began teaching Philosophy at the College of Lake County, Grayslake Illinois. In 1986 he started a 19-year career in computing, serving first at Xavier University, Cincinnati, Ohio as the Data Base Administrator and part-time faculty in the School of Business. More recently he served as Manager of Data Administration and then Director of Information Systems at Miami University.

He has a M.Div and an MA in The Philosophy of Religion at Trinity International University and studied Philosophy of Language in the graduate school of the University of Chicago. William has been on the program of conferences in the Ohio area as well as at Summit. His recent work at Miami has focused Information Security Policy and Incident Response.
