David W. Dodd

David Dodd is Vice President for Information Resources and CIO at Xavier University. In this position, he has comprehensive leadership responsibility for information technology, the university library, web development, instructional technology, the registrar, and strategic information resources. David has twenty-five years IT experience in business, research and development, and higher education. His technical expertise includes high availability systems and networks, collaboration technologies, and convergence architectures. In recent years, David’s areas of professional concentration have included IT strategic planning, organizational transformation, leadership issues in higher education, and the strategic use of information technology. At Xavier, his primary focus is on the development of a fully integrated information resources organization capable of supporting 21st century learners. He has been an active writer, presenter, and speaker at industry conferences including EDUCAUSE. Prior to joining Xavier, David held IT leadership positions in the University of North Carolina and University of South Carolina systems and in various corporate assignments. He holds a masters degree from the State University of New York in Binghamton and is completing a Ph.D. in educational leadership and policy.
