About MeMy BioKathleen Bennett, M.A. (literature) is Web Instructional Technologist for the Innovative Technology Center at the University of Tennessee. For six years she coordinated the rapid growth of technology in an urban K-12 school district, following extensive experience in the secondary classroom. She was project director and managed the installation of six LANs during the district's rapid move to incorporating Internet into the classroom. At the same time, she designed many of the training programs in emerging technologies for the faculty and staff. She is a specialist in training pre-service teachers in the integration of technology into the K-12 classroom. She recently received a Certificate of Online Teaching from California State University at Hayward, is a certified Novell administrator, holds a Master's Degree in literature as well as a B.A. in literature, history, and education from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. Her research interests include applying theories of accelerated learning, pedagogical rethinking of traditional courses for the technology-enhanced classroom and online education, and training university faculty in using basic Internet communication tools as well as emerging technologies.
