Abstract:

Campuses large and small face similar pressures to offer secure, online services tailored to specific audiences such as prospective students, parents, and alumni. Given the time it takes to manage the access, security, and privacy information for all these applications and their audiences, how can we afford both the time and money required to deploy them? This session will discuss why institutions should begin a middleware implementation, if they haven't already, how this infrastructure contributes to the bottom line, and what help is available through the NSF Middleware Initiative.
